The design context
What is new about today's civilization?
Context
Today we are living in a digitalized civilization. Connected objects are not simply a support to our daily tasks, they are now primordial. We will be jumping into Jamie's life to understand more about his desire to keep his family and belongings safe.
Research
The top reasons why people should purchase a home security device: 24/7 surveillance, fire/gas protections, lower house insurance, stay connected, medical assistance, peace of mind. One in six US householders posses two to four home security cameras.

Define
To understand the user's needs, motivations and frustrations, the elaborating of a persona is important to explore multiple solutions to existing problems.
Insight: bring an alternative to home security facing what is already on today's market. Why would users buy Dyson Home Security equipment?
New home security
Dyson's home security product should go beyond visible threats.
Sanitary
The device will not only be able to detect if a moving individual is at an abnormal temperature but also be equipped with a sensor that can detect disease markers in breath or toxins in the air.
Air quality
It is important to keep in mind that we are living in a growing industrial context. Analyzing the quality of the air is also ensuring that a young family is maintained safely in their home.
Design Thinking
Dyson's home security product is more than a simple camera. It secures your belongings, the quality of your home, and more importantly, your family.
Surveillance
The product is equipped with a camera that can rotate at a 360° angle allowing the user the determine the best position. It will also have 4 proximity sensors on each side. With this, the user can activate the tracking option to follow the movement of an individual walking by.
Communication
The Dyson device is not only equipped with a microphone to record suspicious noises but it also has an integrated speaker. This can allow the user to communicate with people inside the home. It also comes in handy to talk to delivery services.
Sanitary
The Sanitary feature of the device is an innovation to personal home security. Although the technology to find diseases in the air is only at the research stage, using a smart thermal camera it is possible to see if an individual has a fever. In addition, we could also imagine the device is equipped with an air sanitizer liquid.
Air quality
Air quality is a more and more common feature used in homes but also in vehicles. A very simple AQI sensor can make a big difference to the well-being of the users.

The user-friendly modern designed app is made to visualize and customize all the product's features using various items. Each item is built to navigate through the details of the features.

Design Challenge Overview
I really enjoyed accomplishing the Dyson design task. I Appreciated the opportunity to carry out this challenge and to use the Dyson brand as part of my research and production of the design concept.
